Ocimum tenuflorum, more commonly referred to as Holy Basil or Tulsi, is a green and leafy plant native to Southeast Asia that is used in Ayruvedic Medicine. Holy Basil contains high nutritional value. These include: Vitamin A&C, Calcium, Zinc, Iron, and Chlorophyll. Holy Basil contains various beneficial phytochemical compounds such as; oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, rosmarinic acid, eugenol, carvacrol, linalool, and β-caryophyllene.
